> I have been to over 24 debates over
Christianity. The Atheist has NEVER WON.
My challenge has been brought to the
attention of almost that many Christian apologists. Not a single one of them has
submitted or identified a qualifying document that they would see posted
alongside mine. Unless you come up with such a document, I'm adding you to the
list.
> the author make it sound like he has
some new arguments
My document makes no claim to originality,
and of course almost all of the arguments in this millennia-old debate are
familiar. However, there are a few points I make in my document that I have not
seen presented anywhere before, and I invite you to identify any anti-Christian polemic that
previously made my minor points that
- Jesus' family should have joined his ministry because of the annunciation
and nativity miracles;
- Jesus' ministry was ineffectual in his hometown and among prior
acquaintances;
- Mary Magdalene was uniquely likely to be responsible for the resurrection
traditions;
- suspicions of the Baptist's resurrection provide a precedent for a
less-than-physical resurrection;
or mustered all the evidence I cite for
- the Jewish exclusiveness of Jesus' ministry;
- Jesus failure to claim divinity;
- Jesus' illegitimacy possibly alienating him from Joseph; or
- Jesus' evasiveness and retreats from danger.
Failing that, I invite you to identify any
anti-Christian polemic that is nearly as comprehensive as
mine.
> I would love to
set up a debate between you and a biblical
scholar
In case you've
forgotten, my challenge is to a written debate via opposing
fixed-length documents iteratively edited until each side is satisfied that
its document answers the other's. If you know of a biblical scholar who
thinks he can meet my challenge, by all means send him my way. If you even
know of a document that satisfies (or can be edited to satisfy) my criteria, by
all means send it to me and I'll post it alongside mine. I doubt you will
do either.
