Subject: Public Debate
Dear Brian,

I have emailed you before, but I do not know if you remember me.  I just want to start off by saying that I respect you and your arguments.  I was wondering if you would be involved in any live public debate.  The Christian/Atheist debate is very popular and as I told you before I have never seen an Atheist (in my opinion) win.

The reason I would love to enjoy a public debate is because written debates are easy to "hind-behind."  In your opinion, I am sure that you think that alot of the replys to your writings are not really rebuttals at all.  I am sure the people involved in the replys feel the same way about you.

Written debates go on and on and on.  Everybody always has a reply on this subject.  For example, I love watching the presidential debates as I am sure you probably do (being in politics).  You can visit anti-Kerry or Bush sites and they always have a "reply" to whatever argument is being established by the other party.  I enjoy when they actually debate live.  I believe it cuts to the best evidence they have, and you hear instant responses from the other side.  I have seen many Atheists (such as yourself) repeatdly post websites of rebuttals to Christian books, magazines, etc., only to show that their rebuttals are not very founded on facts or evidence at all.

Bottom line I think a public debate would be a great thing for both sides.  It usally exposes the man in fault.  They are fun to watch or read and gives both parties a chance to be heard by many, and to finally end in closing arguments.  Then the people will decide.  Many of these debates such as Christianity vs. Atheism or Creation vs. Evolution are at Universities with people bringing an un-biased view on the matter.  Anyway, I was wondering if you would be willing.  Maybe that it something that can happen in the near future.

Thank you for reading,
Craig
