Subject: RE: waste of time

The site was left up by a student doing research, so I took a look.

Two impressions with one pageview; I might have to adjust my audience stats.

Don't confuse my response with caring about your views.

Yes, there's no evidence here at all that my views have gotten under your skin.

However, I could not deny the entertainment value of the superiority complex you've developed as a result of noone responding to your "challenge".

What superiority complex?  All I've done here is join the winning  team  near the end of the game and point out that the losing  team is still scoreless. I'm under no illusion that this establishes any sort of  personal "superiority".
Here's the hard, but sad truth -- the lack of challenges does not stem from a lack of capable individuals....it stems from apathy toward wasting one's time doing so.
You are apparently not familiar with the quality of the polemical output of the apologists my challenge is addressed to.

As I say to them, "
if any extant qualifying text of yours makes a better argument than my document does, then you're already done".  If you know of any qualifying texts of Christian apologetics that make a better argument than mine, just point me to your favorite one and enjoy watching me squirm as I link my argument directly to it. Go ahead, make me regret my challenge. If you can.

This may surprise you, but your arguments against Christianity are not new.

It's odd that you think I might consider my arguments substantially novel.  However, I invite you to identify any anti-Christian polemic that previously made my minor points that
or mustered all the evidence I cite for
Failing that, I invite you to identify any anti-Christian polemic that is nearly as comprehensive as mine.

Any reputable Christian apologist has answered your objections to Christianity hundreds of times.

The entire point of my challenge is to array the standard arguments of each side against the other, precisely to avoid the repetitiousness and run-on debates that characterize 99% of such polemics.

As such, no reputable Christian apologist would waste their time doing it again on this site.

"On this site" is not a requirement. Nor is any "time-wasting" required. You either can point to a qualifying pro-Christian text with better arguments than mine, or you can't.  How much time does it take you to point?

BH: If you think you have an alternative value system that I haven't already evaluated and found inferior, I chall-- um, invite -- you to state it.

MM: I find it hard to imagine that you haven't already prejudged every other individual and their value systems as inferior to you and yours.

Regarding individuals, your imagination simply fails you. Regarding value systems: I "prejudge" nothing, and note your failure to identify an alternative value system that I haven't already evaluated.

How do I put this politely? --- openmindedness does not appear to be one of your strong suits.

On the contrary, I unsentimentally abandon an idea if I get evidence that a better one is available. I used to believe Yahweh exists; now I don't. I used to believe the proper role of government could be derived purely from political theory; now I believe economic theory is also relevant. I used to think viability should help define personhood; now I don't.  I used to believe progress is inevitable; now I believe it is contingent. I used to believe the Republicans would shrink government if given the chance; now I don't.

I invite, link to, and answer all substantive criticism of my writings, and even index the best articles I've found defending Christianity.

I'm so openminded, I even give a serious answer to a charge of closemindedness that comes from -- wait for it -- a defender of Christian apologetics.

BH: Feel free to point me at all the worthwhile and meaningful results that have accrued from you confronting challenges.

MM: As for my worthwhile and meaningful accomplishments, I have a lifetime of them.

I'll have to take your word for it, since you didn't identify a single one.

But somehow, I've come to doubt your sincerity in really wanting to know.

I did sincerely want to know if you could point to such an accomplishment. And now I know.

However, in case you're wondering how to obtain some for yourself, the secret lies not in the actual challenge, but in picking the ones that matter....

Do you really think that to anyone reading this you've established a reputation as someone privy to "the secret" of "worthwhile and meaningful accomplishments"?

In any event, thanks for the laughs.

Thank you for confirming that my arguments are hard to ignore and even harder to answer.

I'll be checking in on November's election results...

My prediction is on record: 4%. It's amusing that you apparently think I have some sort of emotional investment in how many votes I get.

that should also be very entertaining....

If hearing about suboptimal outcomes for me is what you consider entertainment, then there's no need to wait for November.  Just keep an eye on my primary stocks DNA and YHOO; I made six figures when they shot up this morning, and they're bound to have occasional regressions. Or for what I guess you would consider real entertainment, just read about the death of my son Blake.
