PI: The case law you cited is irrelevant. The highest law in the land is the U.S. Constitution, not a court interpretation of it. The U.S. Constitution isn?t vague or ambiguous. It means exactly what it says and it doesn?t require interpretation. It?s written in simple English. The word ?defense? (sic) is mentioned twice in the U.S. Constitution. Once in the preamble and once in article 1, section 8. In both cases it?s mentioned as one of the reasons ?We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.? We the people are forming a more perfect union. Why? To provide defense. For whom? For America. Does defense include starting unprovoked wars? Absolutely not and anyone who claims otherwise is a liar. Clause 1 of article 1 section 8 lays out what congress can or can?t collect taxes to accomplish, and the clauses following describe how they can do it. Anything not specifically enumerated is illegal for government to do. ?The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;? Congress can collect taxes to provide for the common defense (note: it doesn?t say offense or to build empires, practice nation building, etc. and anything that isn?t specifically mentioned in the U.S. Constitution is prohibited for government to do) and general welfare of the United States. It can?t collect taxes to provide for the common defense and general welfare of Iraq, or Kuwait, or anyone else. Unless you can specifically show me the part of the U.S. Constitution that authorizes the U.S. government to use the military for non-defensive purposes (the war in Iraq is not for the defense of America and has endangered America), you have nothing. Nothing else you mentioned is worth responding to. Your arguments have no merit, are baseless, violate the non-aggression principle which defines who is or isn?t a libertarian, etc. I?m not going to waste my time getting into a pissing contest with you because you just aren?t worth it. I should have known you?d try to cite lame ?godwin?s law? which is irrelevant and carries no weight. It?s not a law. It?s an opinion. Your arguments are untenable from a libertarian perspective. The mere fact that you think the civil war was the right thing to do means you are beyond hope. You aren?t a libertarian and you never will be. Your views are worthless. You are exactly the kind of people I intend to get out of the party. You are exactly the kind of people who have no valid place in the party. I?m happy we had this discussion so I could see how truly brainwashed and ignorant you are and so I can make the party extra uncomfortable for you. You and your ilk are a festering disease on the party, and those who are truly libertarian like myself are the cure. I?m not going to waste my time destroying you over and over again as I have been. I?ve got more important things to do and far more intelligent people to talk to; besides, you?ve proven to everyone that you aren?t the slightest bit libertarian. I only hope the other people up in the Silicon Valley area will see your blatant stupidity and unbelievably non-libertarian stances and refuse to vote for you. Any vote for you is a vote against libertarianism. When I served as chairman of the San Bernardino county region I had to do a bit of cleanup, but now they are thriving for it. The tree of liberty must be pruned now and then to ensure it will grow healthy. When you and those like you are a long forgotten and bitter memory within the party, we will thrive as never before because those in the party will be true libertarians and not liars. You don?t love liberty, and you don?t represent it. You stand for the exact opposite of liberty. Every single death caused in Iraq is a murder and if you disagree with that statement, you support murder and are merely trying to rationalize murder. Any killing that wasn?t provoked by a direct attack is a murder. End of story. Each and every death associated with the civil war, the war in Vietnam, Panama, Iraq, etc. is a murder and the only people who disagree are those who are not libertarians.
